DOS Arcade game from POW Productions from 1997.
POW Productions
1997
PowBall is a fast-paced arcade game for one or two players that combines intense Arkanoid/Breakout style action with vertical scrolling shooter segments. The story takes place in the far future when a new valuable mineral is discovered which can be extracted from debris in space, and adventurous miners called Rockhoppers set out to collect as much as possible to make a fortune. The player is one such Rockhopper, and the process of breaking bricks represents the mining effort. The game offers a wide variety of bonuses and weapons that may be either collected during play, or purchased in shops between levels. PowBall was originally sold as shareware, but on 5 July 2000 author Anthony P. Hamilton released the full version as freeware. A free Windows port is also available (please see the links section below).
