BRIXOR v2 helpeng.txt
-------------------------------------

This game is based on the classic arcadegame Arkanoid, which was
released in the 1980s. It was very popular game at that time.
The objective of the game is to collect scores by breaking bricks
using a paddle and ball.

Games which uses the same idea, is also called 'breakout - clones'.
Brixor is one variation from this genre.

Each level in the Brixor is maded using metal-, wood-, plastic-,
stone- or glassbricks. You have to destroy all the bricks from
each level with (mostly) the ball. The ball must be kept in the
area by controlling it with a paddle. When you hit a ball with the
paddle, it bounces back to the reversed direction where it comes
from. If it miss the paddle, it's destroyed by crashing onto ground.
The paddle is operated by the mouse. At the beginning of each
level, the ball is launched by pressing the left mousebutton.

At the end of each completed level, you enter to the store. In the
store you can buy (or sell) with the earned scores <=> credits,
guns, energybatteries, balls and some other devices to the paddle.
All the prices are displayed at the right panel. To buy something,
select the item you want from the list and click the 'buy' button.
You can sell any previously purchased item in a similar way, by
clicking the 'sell'-button. You can sell the 'materialbowls'
(descripted later) at ten at the time by clicking 'sell' with
the right mousebutton. There is also the option to save the game
(registered version only). Any previously saved game is replaced.

After a brick is destroyed, it transforms to a 'material bowl'. These
bowls move around the screen until destroyed either by crashing onto
ground or shooted by you. This gives exellent opportunity to earn
more credits. You can shoot the bowls by arming the paddle with the
gun. You can sell all the bowls you hit later in the store like a
raw materials when you consider the rates are high enough. Current
rates are always displayed as 'live' in yellow bars on right side
of the screen while playing. In the store, they are displayed in
right panel.
You should avoid having the bowls smashing to the paddle, as they
deplete energy quickly.

There are two types of the guns in the game. With the guns loaded
with the normal ammos you can shoot only the bowls. Guns with the
special ammos can destroy the bricks and the bowls. No credits
earned by shooted bricks, only from the bowls.
When you buy a gun, remember to buy ammos to it!
Max. load of the both types of ammos is 600 at the time.

Most powerful equipment is green superball. It can destroy any kind
of the bricks from its way. You can use it in same way like all other
weapons or equipments in the game; Switch it to primary device by
pressing <Alt> or <Alt Gr>, until it is displayed in the small image
on the lower right corner of the screen. It may need pressing several
times, if you have several devices. After set, 'activate' it at the
right moment by pressing <spacebar>. A ball must be now moving. One
superball is used in every activation. After returning and hitting to
the paddle, a ball get caught on it. It can now be launched again as
a normal ball.

With the magnetic fields, the paddle is capable to fly freely in the
screen. Magnetic fields are numbered from one to five, where five
represents highest altitude. However, the paddle cannot fly higher
than the bottom brick is on the level. Magnetic fields are capable to
operate forever, using only very small amount of energy.

Any activity requires energy. Therefore it is important to make sure
the paddle has enough energy to operate. Soon or later you have
to buy more energybattery units to continue playing. A vertical bar
marked with letter 'E' on the lower right corner of the screen displays
current status of the battery in use. You should replace the current
battery with new one, before it is empty; Select energybatteries to
as a primary device, and press <space>. If not, your credits are charged
for 1500 scores.
Game is over, if a paddle ran totally out of the energy and there aren't
any battery units in reserve.
The guns are neither capable to operate forever. While playing, the
status of the selected gun is displayed in the horizontal bar below
the small image on lower right corner of the screen. This image
displays currently selected primary device or gun. A green number on
top left corner of the image displays amount of devices you have.
The two horizontal bars above the image displays amount of the ammos
you have.

You can stop playing the game anytime by pressing <ESC>.
Otherwise the game is over if you ran out of energy or balls.
If your final scores (credits) are better than any result in the
topten-list, you can add your name to the list.
