In addition, the "Builder" sections of the game are functional, except that you will not be able to save any new items or any changes you make to existing ones. GAME INSTRUCTIONS Rules of Engagement comes with a 230 page manual. Obviously, the game is far too complicated to include playing instructions with this demo. You should, however, be able to get a feel for what the game is about. A special note is required for keyboard players. Most "buttons" in the game have one of its letters overscored. This denotes which key must be pressed in order to activate the button. For instance, the button labeled - CREATE is activated by pressing the T key on the keyboard. Some buttons are marked with symbols. They are as follows: Symbol Key Equivalent ------ -------------- ^ Up Arrow | | Down Arrow v <- Left Arrow -> Right Arrow _ ^ Page Up | | Page Down v - |<- Home ->| End DEMO NOTES Rules of Engagement includes some of the most sophisticated artificial intelligence ever devised for a computer game. When browsing through the demo, pay special attention to the personality traits that can be set for every character, both friend and foe, in the game. Since you can actually change these traits, you can, in effect, modify the artificial intelligence algorithms in each mission. This is the first game to allow such complete control over the interactions of the characters.
