You can simply drag and drop the file SAVWAR.BAT over the DOSBox icon to start playing. Experienced DOSBox users may choose other methods of startup. The software was configured and tested to work with the official DOSBox build v0.74-3 available from www.dosbox.com. It may or may not work with any other third-party DOSBox distributions that are available. For playing instructions and other information, please refer to the README.TXT file found in the WAR directory. !!! IMPORTANT !!! Savage Warriors Demo might have problems with sound playback if DOSBox is not configured to emulate EMM386. However, this feature is not supported in the official DOSBox build v0.74-3 available from www.dosbox.com. While the demo will work with this version of DOSBox, you may experience sound crackling and other issues. You will need a newer SVN build of DOSBox (based on updated code from the official repository) that enables EMM386 emulation. This build is available from the DOSBox ECE website (please scroll down to the bottom of the page): https://dosboxece.yesterplay.net/ If you use the supplied SAVWAR.BAT file to start the game, it will switch to EMM386 emulation automatically, but you can also change this setting manually. Open your DOSBox SVN configuration file in a text editor of your choice and find the following line: ems=true Change this to: ems=emm386 Save and close the configuration file. Note that other games might not need EMM386 or not support it, so you'll need to revert to the default ems setting manually. However if you use the SAVWAR.BAT method, DOSBox will only switch to EMM386 for the duration of playing Savage Warriors Demo. This distribution of Savage Warriors Demo may or may not work with other third-party DOSBox versions that are available. ============================================================================== * Game controls * The default controls for player one are set to numeric keypad for movement, and Shift and Enter to kick and punch.
