ͻ
Minimum required to play Crazy Cows
ͼ

Crazy Cows needs, at least, 564 Kbs. of conventional memory to run
with sound and music. Otherwise, without these, the minimum needed
  is only 534 Kbs.

To increase conventional memory, you can create a boot system disk, or
you can use memory optimizers. In any case, take a look at your operative
  system manual.

It is recommended, but not necessary, to use SMARTDrive or other cache
controllers to increase game speed. To load SMARTDrive just enter this
  line:

                         SMARTDRV 512 /x

It is necessary also a mouse controller, such as MOUSE.COM by Microsoft.
This file is included in COWS.ZIP in case you have no controllers in your
hard disk. To load this controller, just type 'MOUSE'.

How to play with Crazy Cows
ͼ

Crazy Cows is played turn after turn, like a chess game: you first move,
then computer does (if playing in 1 player mode).

You start by choosing one of the two troops available: gray or brown cows.
After that, you can start the game.

 Ŀ
  Status bar

On the right hand of the screen you have a bar, where you can find a
picture of the cow selected, and a red and a green indicator, and
    below these, various buttons.

The green indicator is the MUs indicator. MUs (movement units) show
whether the cow selected is able to move or not. When the indicator
is at minimum, your cow won't move anymore, so it'll be time
to choose another cow (by clicking on it), or to change your turn (to
do it, just click on the button marked with an 'X').

MUs decrease when the cow is moving or when it is attacking. Each
different kind of cow needs more or less MUs to attack, depending
on its type (ninja cow, scuba cow, bazooka cow...).

The red indicator shows the energy of the cow selected. The starting
ammount of energy of every cow depends on its type.

For more information, you can press the 'info button' (with a '?' on it).
It will show all the properties of your cow.

  Ŀ
   Move/Attack

To MOVE or SELECT a cow, the 'movement button' must be pressed. 'Movement
button' is the one where you see a cow and an arrow drawn on it. (You can
also quickly select another cow by pressing the right mouse button.)

To make a cow ATTACK another cow, 'attack button' has to be selected.
This button is just below the movement button. To show the range the cow
can reach (i.e. a ninja cow has less range than a shotgun cow) the mouse
pointer will turn into a cross. Remember to deselect this button after
attacking when you want to move another cow.

  Ŀ
   Killing a cow

Cows can be killed in many ways:
      a) If the energy of your cow reaches the minimum.
      b) If your cow puts its shoe on a mine, your poor animal will fly on
      peaces.
      c) Only scuba cows can swim on water. Others, sorry, but will
      be drowned.
      d) Think that some grounds, such as the desert or the stone ground, if
the option 'ground influence' is on (switchable at options menu at
main screen), can decrease energy to your cow, and, of coure, kill it.

There are seven kinds of different cows for each troop. Here they are:
