ROCK - INSTRUCTIONS

INTRODUCTION

THE AIM OF THE GAME...
The goal is for players to survive the perils of the caves, collecting
valuable diamonds and destroying (or avoiding) baddies. Enough diamonds
must be collected in each cave to open the exit (signified by a white
flash/sound), allowing progress to the next...

THE CAST...

THE PLAYERS
Syd & Sid - Two reasonable dudes, who just want to get the game finished,
so that they can sit back, relax and watch the end sequence!
Each player starts the game with 3 lives. A free life is awarded
every 1000pts.

EARTH
Players automatically digs through this when walking around the caves,
leaving a tunnel behind. Earth supports rocks and diamonds and acts as a
barrier against baddies.

ROCKS
Rocks are affected by gravity and will topple, if not supported by earth.

DIAMONDS
Collecting diamonds increases players' score. On collecting a certain number
of diamonds, the exit will open allowing the level to be completed.
As with rocks, diamonds are affected by gravity and will kill the player or
any baddies they fall onto.

TITANIUM WALLS
This type of wall is totally indestructible and forms the cave perimeter.

BRICK WALLS
These can be damaged or destroyed by explosion.

MAGIC WALLS
Magic walls are similar to brick walls, but are semi-permiable.
When rocks fall through a magic wall, they are transformed into diamonds,
but if diamonds fall through, they are turned into rocks.

A magic wall is activated by dropping a rock or a diamond onto it. Once this
happens, the wall will seem to move, but beware - this effect only lasts
for a short time.

Before activating a magic wall, a space must be cleared underneath it for
the transformed rocks and diamonds to fall.

GUARDIANS
These baddies roam aruond the caves and will kill a player on contact. When
killed, guardians explode causing proximity damage.

SUPER GUARDIANS
Similar to guardians, but when killed, or touch slime, they explode
into a shower of diamonds.

SLIME
This harmless creature grows slowly through earth and tunnels. When slime is
fully enclosed and can no longer grow, it suffocates and turns to diamonds,
however if the slime grows too big, it will die and turn into rocks.

ENTRANCE
Players' starting position within a cave.

EXIT
Players must collect the required amount of diamonds, then head for this
point.
