JMF200.POW -- A Second 100 Custom Levels with new graphics for POWBALL
----------------------------------------------------------------------
[JMF200.POW, first release -- 13APR1997. The second of two complete base
level patches for Powball, with custom graphics. Includes "Doctor Johnny's
Essential Notes on the Powball Level Editor" (jfleved0.txt).]
.........................................................................

Just what the title says, folks! To use, copy JMF200.POW to your POWBALL
directory, and run POWBALL with the "-files" command-line switch:

          POWBALL.EXE -files JMF200.POW

The patch file will provide 100 new levels as the DEFAULT levels,
enabling bonus levels and high scores. (Add-on levels by themselves,
while thoroughly playable, allow neither.) Enjoy!

CAUTION: Some of the levels in this patch are, by design, VERY difficult.
My intention in this second series of 100 was to deliberately escalate the
odds with some quite challenging configurations. If this is not your "cup
of tea", I strongly recommend you either decrease the Powball difficulty
settings, or try "JMF100.POW" instead for a "kinder, gentler" patch.

Still here? Bravo! Now here's some advice on strategy:
@ First, SAVE OFTEN (like maybe every level?). After the initial "get
established" levels, there are more than a few where you are LIKELY
to die repeatedly until you get familiar with the "lay of the land".
@ Second, expect anything! (Unbreakable bricks, mucho monsters, etc.)
@ Third, a word to the wise: "GRENADES"! If you're not using them now,
you will be. Many of these levels are virtually unfinishable without
at LEAST fragmentation grenades (better yet, incendiaries!).

NOTE: Use of this patch file requires the REGISTERED version of POWBALL.
The patch file itself may be freely distributed, provided the contents
are maintained intact and unaltered, including this documentation file.
The author (me) assumes no liability for damage incurred from the use
of this patch, though I'm hard pressed to see how that's even possible.
Additionally, I cannot be responsible for addiction resulting from casual
exposure to this terrific game. For that you must blame its creator,
Anthony P. Hamilton. Many thanks to same for his help and friendship
throughout the often laborious but always enjoyable process of creating
these levels.

P.S. Keep an eye on "Ant's Nest" (http://homepages.enterprise.net/conan/),
POWBALL's World Wide Web Home Page, for the latest in POWBALL patches
and add-ons, plus lots of oher exciting stuff!

clone. Someday they will all claim to be the ultimate POWBALL clone."
