* Note on the freeware release *

The Bard's Lore is made with Interplay's The Bard's Tale Construction Set. It
was originally sold as shareware, as permitted by the Construction Set's
license terms. The user could download the full game for free, but would
receive extra material, including a cluebook and a spellbook, upon registering
the game with the author.

In March 2002, author John H Wigforss made the full game with the above extras
a free download available from his site. This pack also includes the second
adventure, The Bard's Lore II.
