8/08/2006 Marksman (Incomplete) Action/Comedy By FYNDR michaelseaholm@gmail.com As the eponymous character, you are tasked with joining the Heroes Club, a distinguished team of crimefighters based out of Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Only upon joining does the Marksman learn that the group is full of incompetents: a man who speaks to rocks, a boomeranger with dubious aim, a frat boy street-fighter, and an invisible paraplegic. Despite this, he reluctantly agrees to aid them in their fight against their mortal enemies, the League of Ne'er-Do-Wells. I started working on Marksman sometime in the summer of 2006, and only after finishing a handful of boards did I realize that I had accidentally stolen the idea for the plot from Mystery Men. I abandoned the project shortly thereafter. Although it doesn't contain anything new from a technical or artistic standpoint, Marksman still has some merit as a comedic vehicle - a lot of the jokes are in the same vein as other ZZT games I had made and is very much a historical snapshot of the style of humor popular on the Z2 fora and elsewhere on the Internet at the time. In any case, I hope you enjoy Marksman despite its incomplete state, even if only as a historical curiosity. Feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions regarding this game, my other ZZT games, or ZZT in general. ~FYNDR NOTE: Upon reviewing the readme files for my previous entries, I noticed a strange piece of text at the bottom of each, reading "*Sorry, don't take that personally... Crybaby...". After doing some digging, I realized that I created these files from the original readme for Burger Joint and didn't notice the text since it was below the fold. How's that for plagiarism?
